- Revision Rhinoplasty
This 45-year-old patient submitted to a rhinoplasty many years ago. While playing basketball, he was hit on his nose and experienced a nasal fracture that resulted in a crooked nose. In addition to the cosmetic deformity, he also developed nasal obstruction. He was looking for a nose with a smooth and straight nasal bridge that was similar to the nose he had prior to the fracture.
He met with Dr. Antunes at his Facial Plastic Surgery Practice in Austin, Texas, for a consultation to discuss his options. During the exam, Dr. Antunes examined the inside and outside of his nose, discussed his goals and performed computer image morphing to confirm the patient’s goals with the revision rhinoplasty were realistic.
The patient is shown here 1 year after his revision rhinoplasty. Dr. Antunes used a rib cartilage graft to reconstruct the nasal framework since his cartilages were fractured and had lost support. He is very pleased with his results.
